Panel Sistemas joins the Alliance for Childhood Vaccination

por | 14 Dic 2020 | News

Panel Sistemas joins the Alliance for Childhood Vaccination as a Silver sponsor, and collaborates with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in the fight against infant mortality.

This Alliance was born in 2008, promoted by ”La Caixa” Foundation and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance to fight against infant mortality. As part of its mission to save lives, reduce poverty and protect the world against the threat of epidemics, Gavi has helped vaccinate more than 760 million children in the world’s poorest countries, preventing more than 13 million deaths since the year 2000.

Since the creation of the Alliance, more than 3,000 companies, 8,000 clients and employees of the ”La Caixa” Group, as well as thousands of micro-donations from people in solidarity with childhood vaccination, have contributed to this initiative, in which ”La Caixa” Foundation ”and «Bill and Melinda Gates» Foundation multiply each donation by four, thus increasing efforts against the mortality of the little ones. The sum of all these contributions has helped save the lives of 6.3 million children under 5 years of age.

But there is still much to do, since in the poorest countries every 20 seconds a child dies from causes preventable with vaccines. At this time it is clear, more than ever, to show the importance of vaccines. If vaccination routines are interrupted in the countries where Gavi is present, they will add to COVID-19, other epidemics with more mortality, such as pneumonia or measles, HIV as well as polio.

From Panel we are proud to be part of this great Alliance, and to be able to contribute with our small contribution to achieve a future full of hope and solidarity for the child population, in which we can see the new “GENERATIONS WITH A FUTURE” grow.
